Lydia Theunissen is the Vice President of Human
Resources at Dimensions International, Inc. (DI). Ms.
Theunissen has executive responsibility and authority
for all functions of personnel and benefits management,
including policy development and documentation, progressive
discipline procedures, compensation systems and salary
administration programs, benefits and retirement programs,
employee communications and training, employee relations,
recruiting support, and approval for all hiring and
termination decisions.
Ms. Theunissen is responsible for keeping
abreast of current topics in labor law as well as benefits,
retirement, and health care options and reform and implementing
programs that conform with the current business climate,
for managing the salary administration program and the
Service Contract Act program, chairing the Benefits
Committee, and researching and presenting the impact
of various laws and regulations on the operations of
the company to other corporate managers. She provides
corporate guidance, on an on-going basis, on legal,
managerial, and staff development issues to DI’s
Management Board, Technical Directors, and Program Managers.
Ms. Theunissen has more than twenty-five
years experience managing all aspects of human resources
for multisite, international government contractors.
In 1996, she was awarded lifetime certification as a
Senior Practitioner in Human Resources by the Human
Resources Certification Institute of the Society for
Human Resources Management.
For ten years, Ms. Theunissen was an
elected Subscriber Director of the Board of Directors
of the George Washington University Health Plan. During
this time, she served as Chairperson for bimonthly Grievance
Hearings, member of Quality Oversight Committee, and
member of Executive Committee.
Ms. Theunissen graduated summa cum laude,
earning a BA with major emphases in Political Science
and English and a minor emphasis in Economics, from
Mount Saint Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
She holds an MBA from the George Washington University
with a concentration in Business, Economics, and Public
Policy and a certificate in Workplace Mediational Conflict
Resolution from the Northern Virginia Mediation Service.
She has attended numerous continuing education courses
and seminars from a wide spectrum of educational institutions
and organizations, including the American Management
Association, Society for Human Resources Management,
and Walt Disney World.
Ms. Theunissen is an active member of
the Society for Human Resources Management, Executive
Women’s
Roundtable, and Women of Washington. |
